AA Announcements
The AA's home insurance rose by three percent between July & September
according to their index. This equates to a twelve percent hike over the year.
Unconfirmed figures for October & November suggest a further increase
of approximately six percent.
The AA have stated that the cost per mile for motor vehicles is 44 pence per
mile.
A scheme called 'Pass Plus' can be used by young drivers to reduce their car
insurance premiums according to the AA. You pay £150 and receive a certificate
if your driving is deemed OK after being assessed. The AA state that
having the Pass Plus certificate can reduce a new drivers insurance
by as much as 35%.
The AA have claimed that there is usually an increase in claims against car
insurance when the clocks go back. Claims tend to increase as there are less
hours of daylight and the colder weather also plays a part. The AA say this is
because more accidents occur when drivers are tired and in icy conditions.
